Welsh Assembly Government responds to Review on Service Provision for Young Disabled People, 27/02/07 [W]

During the Plenary Session of 27 February 2007 Minister for Equalities and Children, Jane Hutt, welcomed the report from the Equality of Opportunities Committee on Service Provision for Young Disabled People. The report, "Why is it that disabled young people are always left until last?" was published in January 2007.  The Minister explained that the Assembly welcomed 35 out of the 40 recommendations made in it.  The other five recommendations concerned matters which the Assembly does not currently have responsibility for.  In each of these cases, she explained the Welsh Assembly Government accepts spirit of the recommendation and will work with the relevant organisation to address them.

More information is available in the Minister’s press release.

Comments made by the Minister during the Plenary Session can be viewed in the Assembly’s Record of Proceedings.
