Minister for Children, Education and Lifelong Learning, Leighton Andrews, made a statement on the role of Welsh Ministers in Relation to School Closures on 12 January 2010. In the statement he explained about the guidance that Ministers are responsible for setting the guidance which local authorities must take into account when they develop their plans to change schools and the role of the Minister if objections are raised.
