Parenting Action Plan Consultation, 15/3/05 [W]
Parenting Action Plan Consultation, 15/3/05 [W]
Consultation from 15/3/05 to 30/6/05
The Welsh Assembly Government's Parenting Action Plan was launched for consultation on 15 March 2005. The plan is intended to raise the profile of parenting in Wales. It outlines a number of proposals for the future development of parenting support services including:
Promoting models of parental participation and empowerment.
Providing more opportunities for parents to participate in planning and delivering services.
Providing more information and advice including setting up a national bilingual helpline for parents in Wales.
Ensuring that assistance offered to parents is one of the objectives to benefit from increased resources within the Cymorth fund
Promoting more involvement of parents in schools
The Parenting Action Plan has been developed further to the work of a small Working Party established last year and chaired jointly by the Welsh Assembly Government and Fforwm Magu Plant (the parenting network established by Children in Wales). The Parenting Action Plan was agreed by the Assembly Cabinet on 24 January 2005.
