Consultation on options for changes to the organ donation system in Wales, 11/05/09 [W]

Consultation ends: 03/08/09

The Welsh Assembly Government is consulting on changes to the organ donation system in Wales following the Public Debate that was held between 27th October 2008 and 23rd January 2009.

The Public Debate focused on whether Wales should become the first UK country to introduce an opt-out system, also known as presumed consent. In an opt-out system Doctors can remove organs from every adult who dies – unless a person has registered to opt out.

The consultation document is available to download from the Welsh Assembly Government website.
