Consultation on the Travel Behaviour Code, 14/05/09 [W]
Consultation on the Travel Behaviour Code, 14/05/09 [W]

Consultation ends: 31/07/09

The Welsh Assembly Government is consulting on the Travel Behaviour Code which promotes safe travel for all children and young people, by setting out the standards of behaviour required when travelling from home to school.

The Code will establish common standards of behaviour, discipline and enforcement for children and young people travelling to and from school. It applies to all forms of transport (not just school bus) and covers children and young people between the ages of 5 and 19.

The Assembly Government are also consulting on statutory guidance which accompanies the Code and establishes a framework for investigating incidents involving learner travellers to ensure that consistent standards of behaviour, enforcement and sanctions are adopted across Wales.

The Draft Travel Behaviour Code and the Draft Travel Behaviour Statutory Guidance are available to download from the Welsh Assembly Government website.
