Youth Citizenship Commission Consultation: Should The Voting Age Be Lowered To 16?, 20/10/08 [W/E/NI/S]

Consultation ends: 20/01/09

The Youth Citizenship Commission (YCC) is asking people their views on whether the voting age should be lowered to 16. This is part of its work to consider ways of getting more young people involved in the political process.

A consultation paper - Old enough to make a mark? Should the voting age be lowered to 16? - has today been sent to a wide range of organisations interested in youth and voting issues across the UK. The YCC is also very keen to hear directly from young people and adults - the paper is available online at www.ycc.uk.net.
