All Wales Hand Held Maternity Record & Postnatal Care Pathway Document, 09/09/08 [W]

Consultation ends: 05/12/08

The Welsh Assembly Government is consulting on the All Wales Hand Held Maternity Record & Postnatal Care Pathway Document.

The National Service Framework for Children, Young People and Maternity Services in Wales, (NSF) key action 3.21 states that:

"There is an all Wales national women-held maternity record (to be developed by the Welsh Assembly Government) that is used by both women and professionals)."

An all Wales steering group has now developed a national maternity record for consultation with key stakeholders. The record will be in three parts: the antenatal record, the intrapartum record (clinical pathway for normal labour and the standard partogram for women with risk factors) and the postnatal pathway/

You are being asked to comment on:

i) the content of the antenatal record and the postnatal pathway

ii) the design and the layout of the antenatal record and the postnatal pathway.
