Consultation ends: 14/11/08
The Welsh Assembly Government is consulting on spending priorities for a dormant accounts scheme.
Dormant accounts are bank and building society accounts that have not been accessed by customers for at least 15 years. Since 2005, the UK Government has been working with banks and building societies to design a scheme to allow money in dormant bank and building society accounts to be reinvested in society.
The Welsh Assembly Government has now identified two areas of investment for the money, which are:
The Big Lottery Fund will be responsible for distributing the funds available.
