11.09.19

Wales’ national children’s charities have written a briefing paper for Assembly Members on the Children (Abolition of Defence of Reasonable Punishment) (Wales) Bill.

The paper comes ahead of the Stage 1 debate on the Bill’s general principles on the 17th of September 2019.

The briefing, composed by Children in Wales, NSPCC Cymru, Barnardo’s Cymru, Save the Children, Action for Children and TGP Cymru, recommends that Assembly Members vote in favour of the general principles of the Bill.

The Bill will better protect children and ensure children’s human rights are promoted and protected, the briefing says.
