Learner progress and destinations in independent living skills learning areas in further education colleges


Estyn, the body responsible for inspecting quality and standards in education and training in Wales, has produced a report looking at further education colleges’ arrangements for measuring the progress of students with learning difficulties or disabilities in further education colleges.

The report is a response to a request for advice from the Welsh Government. It reports on how well colleges identified learners needs, whether the programmes delivered met learner’s abilities and whether they prepare learners for transition from college.

The report also made seven recommendations to colleges to improve, and one to the Welsh Government.
