Homelessness, 14/12/16 [W]
The Welsh Government has published data on the number of households applying to local authorities for housing assistance under the Housing Wales Act 2014.
The report also includes information on the number of households living in temporary accommodation. A total of 2,250 households were assessed from July to September 2016, these were considered at risk of becoming homeless within 56 days. Homelessness was successfully prevented for at least 6 months for 1,392 of these households. During this period, 2,655 households were assessed as being homeless and owed a duty to help secure accommodation, with 46% successfully securing accommodation that was lively to last for 6 months following local authority intervention.
