Guidance to school governing bodies on school uniform and appearance policies, 29/11/18 [W]

07.01.19

The Welsh Government is consulting on guidance that will inform governing bodies on school uniform and appearance policies.

There is  no law on school uniforms, and every school can decide whether or not pupils have to wear them. The aim of the new guidance is to make school uniforms fair and affordable for everyone.

The consultation will consider the affordability, access and availability of school uniforms as well as gender-neutral uniforms and appropriate items for to be worn in extreme weather.

You can find full details of the consultation and how to respond on the Welsh Government website.

The consultation will end on 21 February 2019.
