Children (Abolition of Defence of Reasonable Punishment) (Wales) Bill, 02/04/19 [W]

The National Assembly for Wales’s Children, Young People and Education Committee is currently scrutinising the general principles of the Children (Abolition of Defence of Reasonable Punishment) (Wales) Bill.

A consultation has been launched to inform the Committee’s work. The consultation will look at the general principles of the Bill, including looking at whether there is a need for legislation; any potential barriers; unintended consequences arising from the Bill; financial implications; and appropriateness of the power in the Bill for Welsh Ministers to make subordinate legislation.
