The Big Mental Health Survey 2017, 26/09/2018 [W]

09.10.18

Mind Cymru, the mental health charity, have been conducting a survey into experiences of seeking support for their mental health from a GP surgery in the past 12 months.

Mind Cymru surveyed 500 people in Wales about their experiences and found that most people were only ever managed in a primary care setting.

While most respondents praised the attitudes of primary care staff, Mind Cymru said that they were aware of the ways in which one bad experience can prevent someone getting the help that they need.

With that in mind, they tried to better understand what the ideal pathway looks like for someone seeking support for their mental health issues.

The results of the research are presented in this briefing paper and the slides from a presentation launching the paper at the National Assembly for Wales.
