Advocacy standards and outcomes framework for children and young people, 20/08/2019 [W]

The Welsh Government has published guidance on the standards advocacy providers must meet when they provide advocacy for children and young people.

The Independent Professional Advocacy: National Standards and Outcomes Framework for Children and Young People in Wales set out what’s required of advocacy providers during the delivery of their service.

The Framework sets out what outcomes children and young people can expect during advocacy. It sets out what standards the providers need to meet and to show that they are making a positive difference to children and young people’s lives.

The standards include, amongst other things, easily accessible good quality independent advocacy, respect for children’s privacy and confidences and having their wellbeing and safeguarding protected.

The Framework builds on and replaces the National Standards for the provision of Children’s Advocacy Services (2003).
