Asylum, Refugee & Migration
Children in Wales carries out a range of work relating to children and families who have come to live in Wales from other parts of the world. Families who have come to live here from other countries can be faced with a range of challenges bringing children up in a culture they are not used to, and accessing services in a second language. Families with children, or unaccompanied young people, who come here as asylum seekers face particular challenges, with their emotional well-being affected by both the situation they have left behind in their home country and uncertainties about their future. Refugee and economic migrant families and children also face significant challenges in understanding Wales, it’s laws and culture and to feel socially included
