Children’s Organisations Promote Children’s Rights at Eisteddfod, 4/8/2008

Children’s Organisations in Wales are coming together at this year’s National Eisteddfod in Cardiff, with a week long programme of activities promoting children’s rights.

The Children’s Organisations Stand, is being organised by the children’s umbrella organisation, Children in Wales in partnership with a range of children’s organisations, including NSPCC, NCH Cymru, Barnardo’s Cymru, Cymdeithas Tai Hafan, Relate Cymru, Continyou Cymru, and Cardiff Play Services and the National Association of Toy and Leisure Libraries.

The organisations are facilitating a week-long programme of workshops for children. These will range from promoting play and providing craft activities, to specific workshops on subjects including a workshop promoting the value of cookery clubs, and a circus skills workshop, promoting an out of school hours learning Pyramid programme. Between the workshops there will be further craft activities for children and young people including making badges and plastic creatures and face-painting. The stand will also give both children and young people a chance to have their say on how Wales should be run.
