Conference to explore the role of Family and Youth Information Services in Wales, 17/03/15 [W]

A conference will be held in Cardiff on 18 March, 2015 to look at the delivery of information services to children and families in Wales.

The #infoforthefuture2015 conference is being organised jointly by the Welsh Government, the National Association of Family Information Services (NAFIS), Children in Wales and Wrexham Family Information Service.  The conference will focus on exploring the links between the Family and Youth Information Services in Wales, creating partnerships to support families and celebrating the valuable role fulfilled by family and youth information services across Wales.

Delegates at the event will hear from Lesley Griffiths AM, Minister for Communities and Tackling Poverty, Welsh Government along with leaders in youth and family information service development.  Workshops in the afternoon will also give those attending the chance to share their experiences and examples from their own work.

The Welsh Government supports the Family Information Services in Wales through the provision of central support contract, which is led by The Family and Childcare Trust and NAFIS in partnership with Children in Wales and Wrexham Family Information Service.

Notes

  1. Children in Wales is the national umbrella organisation for organisations and individuals who work with children and young people in Wales. It aims to promote the interests of children, to improve services in Wales and to put children high on the Welsh agenda.  We work closely with our members who comprise professionals, policy makers and consumer groups to improve the lives of all children living in Wales, but especially young children, those affected by family instability, disabled children and those suffering the effects of poverty and deprivation.
