Written Statement – Well-Being Statement and Social Services Improvement Approach 2013-14 And Onwards, 16/04/13 [W]

Gwenda Thomas, Deputy Minister for Social Services, has made a statement regarding Welsh Government policy on well-being.

Improving well-being is a core theme of policy in the Welsh Government’s Programme for Government, and will also shape the future of social services as set out in the Social Services and Well-being Bill, currently being scrutinised by the National Assembly for Wales.

A new document has also been published by the Welsh Government aimed at helping people who need care and support and carers who need support.

The “Well-being Statement” sets out a range of factors that contribute to the well-being of a person, and which people in need of care and support can expect in their daily lives.

These encompass areas such as participation in society and the right to have a voice in decisions that affect them.

You can find the full text of the statement on the Welsh Government website.
