Welsh Government to examine the use of arts in education, 05/07/12 [W]

The Welsh Government has announced a joint review between the departments for Education and Skills and Housing, Regeneration and Heritage into how the arts and education sectors work together in Wales, and how this could be expanded.

A task and finish group will be set up to carry out the review and will be led by Dai Smith, Chair of the Arts Council of Wales. The main focus of the review will be to improve the quality and range of arts that children have access to in schools, with the aim of increasing participation in the arts, especially for those from disadvantaged backgrounds.

A report following the review will be published in the summer of 2013.
