Welsh Government announces 54 new classrooms across Wales, 06/02/2019 [W]

Minister for Education, Kirsty Williams AM, has announced £36 million aimed at reducing class sizes in infant schools in Wales.

The funds will specifically target infant schools who have the largest class sizes, high levels of deprivation and/or, additional needs.

£20 million of the fund will be used to build classrooms in schools throughout Wales. The remaining £16 million is to help schools recruit teachers and teaching assistants

According to the Minister for Education, the fund will benefit 100 schools in Wales, addressing “a cause for concern for parents and teachers.”
