Welsh Government to act now and do more to ensure children and adults are not put at risk of abuse, neglect and exploitation, 12/11/2018 [W]

Minister for Children, Huw Irranca-Davies AM, and Cabinet Secretary for Education, Kirsty Williams AM, marked safeguarding week by launching a campaign to improve safeguarding in Wales.

The Minister and Cabinet Secretary noted that they remain concerned about the number of people abused, neglected and exploited in Wales each year.

In an effort to tackle child sexual abuse, the Welsh Government is working with Stop It Now Wales to launch a pan-Wales providing information and learning on safeguarding for practitioners, parents and carers.

Activities during Safeguarding week will also include a poster campaign and awareness raising sessions.

You can find out more about the campaign and read statements from the Minister and the Cabinet Secretary, on the Welsh Government website here.
