The Underwear Rule: NSPCC launches new campaign to help parents talk about sexual abuse, 08/07/13 [W/E/NI/S]

The NSPCC is encouraging parents and carers to discuss safety and physical boundaries with their children.

The Underwear Rule is a new campaign giving help on how to have simple conversations with children to protect them from sexual abuse.

The campaign advises that parents should teach children that their body belongs to them, that they have a right to say no, and to tell an adult if they are worried or upset. It it intended to open up conversations, so that children can ask questions, and become comfortable with sharing their concerns.

Information about the campaign and more advice can be found on the NSPCC website.
