Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act to come into force in two weeks time, 23/03/16 [W]

The Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act will make major changes to social care in Wales.

The Act will come into force on 6 April and will give the Welsh public a greater say about how social services assess and deliver their care and support needs. The Act will empower service users, giving them real control and a stronger voice over the support they need. The right support will be delivered to those in need at the right time and barriers to well-being will be removed.

The focus of the Act will be on early intervention and the increase of preventative services within communities, ensuring that people get the help they need before their situation becomes critical.
