School Challenge Cymru fund, 10/02/14 [W]

Carwyn Jones, First Minister, and Huw Lewis, Minister for Education and Skills, have announced a £20 million fund for up to 40 underperforming schools in Wales.

Called the Schools Challenge Cymru, the fund will launch in September 14 and will buld on similar projects in Manchester and London.

The money will give schools extra support, particularly aimed at improving the attainment of their students. The scheme will also draw on knowledge and leadership from some of the best performing schools.
