Record A-Level results in Wales, 15/08/2019 [W]

The provisional A-Level results in Wales show that Wales has improved the number of A* to A grades to a record high.

A* to A grades in Wales went from 26.3% in 2018 to 27% this year.

Wales has also made improvements in ranking for all grades. Compared to England and Northern Ireland are ranked first for A* grades.

The Minister for Education, Kirsty Williams AM, congratulated students across Wales on their results, saying:

“It’s a big day for everyone collecting their A-level results and I want to congratulate the students, as well as our fantastic teachers and school staff, for all their hard work that’s led up to today.”
