Progress update for Childcare Offer in Wales, 23/03/17 [W]

Cabinet Secretary for Communities and Children, Carl Sargeant AM, has announced that Caerphilly will join six other local authorities in testing the Childcare Offer in Wales from September 2017.

In addition to Caerphilly, the pilot will also run in Blaenau Gwent, Flintshire, Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT), Swansea. Anglesey and Gwynedd will run a joint pilot. Welsh Government will provide £10 million of funding to further develop the offer in 2017-18. Projects on Anglesey and Gwynedd, Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Flintshire, RCT and Swansea offering 30 hours of free early education and childcare per week to 3 and 4 year olds will be taken forward in September 2017.
