Oral Statement – Active Children and Young People, 19/06/12 [W]

Huw Lewis, Minister for Housing, Regeneration and Heritage, has made a statement in Plenary on how the Welsh Government proposes to support Welsh children and young people to live active lives and become active adults. Currently less than a third of girls and half of boys aged between 11 and 16 report moderate or vigorous physical activity for at least 60 minutes a day on five or more days a week.

Current initiatives include the Change4Life Wales scheme and Sport Wales’ community strategy.
