New Pupil Offer programme aims to help schools inspire students, 15/12/14 [W]

Education Minister Huw Lewis has announced funding for schools to help raise their students’ expectations and ambitions, as part of the Schools Challenge Wales programme.

The Pupil Offer scheme will give money to “Pathways to Success” schools – those that have shown a need to make improvements. They will be encouraged to link up with external organisations to give students new experiences in the world of arts, science, sports, culture and heritage.

The schools and external partners, such as third sector organisations, Sport Wales, National Museum, Careers Wales, Techniquest, the Arts Council, and CADW amongst others, will be asked to think creatively about how to offer a wider range of experiences for children and young people that will encourage and inspire them in their learning.
