New Action Plan aims to tackle poverty in Wales, 03/07/13 [W]

The Welsh Government has released its new strategy for alleviating poverty, aiming to create 5000 new jobs and training opportunities.

Building Resilient Communities: Taking Forward the Tackling Poverty Action Plan sets out how the Welsh Government will use its resources to reduce poverty in Wales and mitigate its effects on families and communities.

The plan particularly focuses on job creation and families where no-one works. Personalised and intensive support will be made available for these individuals. The Action Plan also aims to improve the education attainment of children from low-income families.

More information about the Welsh Government’s plans can be found on the Welsh Government website.
