Local authorities to receive £3m of funding to implement new social care legislation, 26/01/16 [W]

The Welsh Government is providing a £3m package to fund and support local authorities to implement the landmark new social care legislation, which comes into force in April 2016.

The Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 will change the way social services are delivered. Individual independence of service users will be promoted through the Act, giving service users stronger voice and more control over the services they receive. Prevention and early intervention will come under greater focus to help and promote people staying independent for longer.
