Literature Wales seeks Chair and Board Members, [W] 02/03/2018

Literature Wales is looking to appoint a new Chair and a number of Board Members. People with experience of working with Children and Young people is a priority.

The charity is seeking its second Chair, as the distinguished poet and academic Damian Walford Davies is due to step down in Spring 2018. Literature Wales is looking to enhance its board with dynamic, committed, capable and visionary individuals to contribute to the development and promotion of literature in Wales.

The voluntary positions will provide great experience and involve close working with Welsh Government and Arts Council Wales.

This is a great opportunity for people who are engaged with literature in the broadest sense to become involved with Wales’ national agency for literature. The charity are looking for people who may be engaged through creative writing, journalism, policy writing, reading or storytelling to families/peers.

Literature Wales has a great track record of success-involved in key events such as 2016’s City of the Unexpected–one of the biggest events that Cardiff has ever seen. Literature Wales engages with 150,000 participants including 50,000 children and young people – alongside working with 500 writers each year.

Literature Wales are looking for people with a range of experiences to join their Board – this includes development, legal skills, public affairs and governance.
