Thinking about entering the 2013 Social Care Accolades?

To find out everything you need to know about how to enter, join a Care Council webinar at 11am on Wednesday 10 October, which will mark the formal launch of the 2013 awards.

Led by the Care Council for Wales, the Accolades are a biennial national showcase for excellence and recognise and share good practice in social work, social care, early years and childcare.

The Accolades are awarded to teams, groups or organisations who have invested in the learning and development of their staff to transform their services and provide better outcomes for those who receive them.

Care Council for Wales Chair, Arwel Ellis Owen, said: “This is the social care workforce’s time to shine and we would urge everyone to take advantage of this opportunity to highlight the good work that they do in providing vital services to so many people.

“We know there is much innovative work taking place across Wales to transform social care so it can meet peoples’ needs and this is the time to recognise and share this good practice.”

There are six categories available for entry in the 2013 Accolades;

·         Leadership to achieve confident, competent and professional workers

·         Citizens controlling services

·         Better outcomes through working together

·         Developing a sustainable workforce

·         Excellent outcomes in the care of older people

·         Excellent outcomes in the care of younger people/children/early years

The interactive webinar will offer guidance on a number of key areas of the Accolades including what the judges will be looking for in each of the categories and tips for completing the entry form.

It will also cover what finalists can expect, key dates and actions, and the chance to ask questions.

All you need to log in is a desktop computer, laptop, tablet or other device with internet access. Your device will need a sound card so that you can listen to the webinar either through its speaker(s) or by using headphones.
