Jobs Growth Wales scheme for young unemployed, 03/04/12 [W]

The Welsh Government has launched a £75 million scheme to create job opportunities for unemployed young people, aged 16-24, for a 6-month period.

It is hoped that this funding will encourage businesses to expand, and make the posts permanent, supporting both individuals and the economy.

Participants will be paid at or above the National Minimum Wage for a minimum of 25 hours per week. The programme will cater for those who are ready to work but are unable to find employment.

Young people can apply for vacancies through the scheme at www.careerswales.com. Details of the scheme are available on the Welsh Government website.
