Education Secretary outlines proposed implementation plan for new additional learning needs system in Wales

Before the National Assembly for Wales passed the Additional Learning Needs and Educational Tribunal (Wales) Bill, the Cabinet Secretary for Education, Kirsty Williams AM, published a report on outlining the proposed approach to implementing the Bill.

The report, published on 12 December 2017, summarises and responds to the consultation held between February and March this year, which received 89 replies. It sets out the proposed approach to implement the new system.

The proposed approach includes mandatory phase introduction of the Individual Development Plans (IDPs), commencing the new system in September 2020, with implementation being completed in 2023.
