Disabled Children Matter Wales Campaign to Lobby AMs, 23/11/07 [W]

On Tuesday 27th November, young disabled people and organisations who work with them will be gathering on the steps of the Senedd to highlight the needs of disabled children and young people.

The gathering, organised by the Disabled Children Matter Wales Campaign will happen at midday, followed by a lunch between 12:30pm and 1:30pm in a designated room in the Old Assembly Building.

AMs will also be invited to the lunch to speak to the young disabled people and seek their views on services for young disabled people prior to the Plenary Session at 2.00pm.

The Minister for Social Justice and Local Government, Brian Gibbons, will be making a statement to the Assembly at about 3.30pm and several AMs will then have an opportunity to respond to what he has to say Tickets will be available for organisations and the young people to view the debate.

The Disabled Children Matter Campaign is highlighting the needs of disabled children and young people as a social inclusion issues and is initially pushing for young disabled people to have access to social and leisure and community facilities, like any other child and young person.
