A’level and Welsh Baccalaureate Results Published, 16/8/07 [W]

Results from the A’level and Welsh Baccalaureate qualifications were published on 16 August 2007.

A’ level results show a slight increase in the pass rate from 2006. The overall pass rate increased by 0.2 percentage points to 97.1%. The number of pupils achieving A grades also rose by 0.2 percentage points to 24.1% and AS level pass rate increase by 0.4 percentage points to 87.9%.                    

There was an increase in the number of pupils completing the Welsh Baccalaureate Advanced Diploma.  This Diploma consists of a compulsory Core and a minimum of two GCE A-levels or an equivalent qualification. A total of 964 students were awarded the Advanced Diploma, this compares with 483 in 2006.
