Advocacy services to be highlighted at National Eisteddfod, 01/08/13 [W]

A Children and Young People’s Advocacy stand will be held at the National Eisteddfod this year, promoting the advocacy sector in Wales.

The stand will include members of advocacy helpling MEIC, Cywaith, the consortium who manage MEIC, as well as the organisations Tros Gynnal and the National Youth Advisory Service (NYAS)

The purpose of the stand is to raise awareness of what advocacy can offer, and how young people can get access to these services. CLIC and Pro-Mo Cymru be using the stand as a base for roving reporters as well.

The MEIC helpline offers free advocacy, information and advice to children and young people.

Children in Wales chair the Cywaith Management Board which is responsible for overseeing the service alongside our partners, Tros Gynnal Plant, Voices from Care Cymru, NYAS and ProMo Cymru. We also work with the Welsh Government to raise awareness of the helpline and promote its use.
