Action for Children’s Serious Organised Crime Early Intervention being rolled out across UK
The Serious Organised Crime Early Intervention service run by Action for Children is going to be rolled out across the UK.
After a pilot in Glasgow, the service will be brought to Edinburgh, Newcastle and Cardiff. Former young offenders act as peer mentors and accessible role models, offering effective support to teenagers who have previously resisted other types of support.
The scheme targets eleven to eighteen year olds who are deemed to be at high-risk, and will also offer education and employment training in addition to the intensive one-to-one support and peer mentoring.
You can find out more information about the project from the Action for Children website.
