£7m EU-backed investment in career opportunities for graduates, 28/07/16 [W]

The Minister for Skills and Science has announced an EU-backed scheme to boost the career prospects of students from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Over 2,000 students will benefit from work experience opportunities from the GO Wales: Achieve through Work Experience scheme over the next three years. The students will benefit from work tasters and shadowing opportunities with employers in their chosen fields, alongside paid work placements. The scheme aims to improve the longer-term prospects of graduates from disadvantaged backgrounds, opportunities being created in key sectors including advanced manufacturing, financial and professional services, life sciences, ITC, tourism and the food and drinks sector.
