£440,000 programme adds value to Maths – 7/3/11 [W]

A new programme to widen access to Further Mathematics at GCE AS/A2 Levels in Wales has been supported by Education Minister Leighton Andrews.

Students completing Further Maths at AS and A Levels are seen as better prepared for mathematics-related courses in higher education and generally more able mathematicians thanks to Further Maths.

Supported with funding totalling £440,000 from the Welsh Assembly Government over a three year period, the programme is being delivered by the Wales Institute of Mathematical and Computational Sciences (WIMCS), based at Swansea University.

More information is available on the Welsh Assembly Government’s website.
