Treasurer

Children in Wales is the national umbrella organisation for those working with children, young people and families in Wales and its work is underpinned by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, working closely with a wide range of the voluntary, statutory and professional sectors across Wales, UK and Europe.

Following the retirement of the previous Treasurer, Children in Wales is seeking to recruit an experienced individual as a new Treasurer for the Trustee Board.

The Treasurer will be responsible for supporting the Trustee Board to oversee the financial running of the charity in line with good practice and in accordance with the governing document and legal requirements. The Treasurer will report to the Board of Trustees at regular intervals about the financial health of the organisation and ensure that effective measures, controls and procedures are in place and appropriate to the charity. As a Trustee, the Treasurer will play a strategic role in the running of the organisation.

The position of Treasurer is unsalaried although travelling expenses can be claimed.  Formal meetings of the Board currently take place on a quarterly basis, however, the Treasurer should expect to make a commitment to at least 9 meetings per year.
