What does the SSWB Act 2014 mean for Children and Young People?
The overall aim of the conference will be to showcase young people’s involvement in participation and to identify their aspirations and provide opportunities for the wider and more meaningful participation of young people in Wales.
The conference will be Chaired by young people and you can expect to hear from:
- Professor Sally Holland, Children’s Commissioner for Wales
- Lesley Griffiths, AM & Minister for Communities & Tackling Poverty
- Professor Graham Donaldson
Both latter speakers will address the conference via video message.
Two interactive workshops will be held:
- One will explore the use of social media and how it can be used to engage young people in the Participation agenda
- The second will focus on curriculum development and well-being
There will also be an active Market Place where young people from forums, groups, schools and partner organisations from across Wales will be showcasing the work they are involved in locally, and to highlight their key messages for Welsh Government. For those of you attending from a Youth Forum/Local Authority, we are able to offer FIVE spaces each.
There will exhibition opportunities available at the conference, where organisations can display materials about themselves or their project. There will be a cost of £25 for this. To obtain a booking form, please email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Cancellations can only be accepted in writing. Cancellations received three weeks before the date of the event will be refunded in full, less a £10 administration fee. No refunds can be made after this date, although substitutions can be made. Children in Wales reserves the right to alter event programmes at any time.
