Join us to explore how domestic law can be used to progress the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. Through speaker presentations and discussion throughout the day, the conference will look at:

  • Developments that are currently taking place across Wales, England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and aboard to embed the UNCRC into law and policy;
  • Threats to existing legal protections of children’s rights
  • Opportunities to further legal protections of children’s rights under the UNCRC

Who should attend

ROCK’s Annual Conference is open to all those with an interest in furthering children’s rights across the UK including NGOs, young people, academics, lawyers, office of Children’s Commissioners, think tanks, civil servants, government representatives, parliamentarians and policy-makers.

There is no fee for the conference but you must register your interest. Places are limited.

Places will be confirmed 4 weeks in advance of the Conference.

Priority will be given to ROCK members. Please wait for confirmation before making travel arrangements.

ABOUT: The Rights of the Child UK (ROCK) is a coalition of voluntary organisations and individuals from across the UK whose goal is to achieve full incorporation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child into UK law.

Steering group members are Wales UNCRC Monitoring Group-Children in Wales, Children’s Rights Alliance England, Together (Scottish Alliance for Children’s Rights) and UNICEF UK

Cancellations can only be accepted in writing. Cancellations received three weeks before the date of the event will be refunded in full, less a £10 administration fee. No refunds can be made after this date, although substitutions can be made. Children in Wales reserves the right to alter event programmes at any time.
