A One Day Course

Contemporary research on brain development makes it clear that the first four years of life, from conception to the end of year three is the most critical period for brain development. This combined with attachment theory provides us with an understanding of how children’s brain development is affected by relationships and experience.

This course will:

  • Provide an explanation of how experience and relationships are critical for early brain development
  • Give an overview of attachment theory and attachment styles
  • discuss the impact of unmet attachment needs trauma, stress and neglect on early development, behaviour and relationships in later life

The course is ideal for any practitioners working with infants, children, young people or parents/carers in a wide range of children and family settings including Early Years, Looked After Children (LAC) and Educational settings.
