Right from the Start

A voluntary organisation that has been established since 1995 to support parents/carers of young children. They are based in a Community House in Aberbargoed and can provide a service to families throughout the County Borough.

Support is provided either through a family support worker or a trained community volunteer to parents/carers of children ages 0-10, to help them to develop skills of brining up children, to enable parents/carers to better stimulate their children to offer a healthier lifestyle and to feel good about parenting. This support can be in a home or group setting.

The aim is to empower and raise the self-esteem of families by improving:

  • CHILDREN'S SPEECH AND LANGUAGE
  • PLAY AND LITERACY
  • PARENTING AND CHILD DEVELOPMENT
  • NEO NATAL AND BREASTFEEDING SUPPORT
  • HEALTHY LIVING / HOME SECURITY, SAFETY AND HYGIENE
  • BEHAVIOUR MANAGEMENT
  • MOTIVATION / SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT / TRAINING
