Services Provided

Home-Start Wrexham is committed to promoting the welfare of families with at least one child under five years of age. Home-Start offers free support, friendship and practical help to families who are visited regularly in their own homes by volunteers who have experience of parenting and know how hard it can sometimes be.

The service offers regular volunteer support, friendship and practical help to families under stress in their own homes, helping to prevent family crisis and breakdown. This support is based on a confidential, consensually negotiated friendship linked by carefully matching a volunteer to the needs of the family.

There is a twice a week support group which provided childcare for parents.

All referrals are made with the consent of the family - referrals can be made through self-referral, family, friend or neighbour, agency/service referral e.g. social services, health visiting team, GPs, midwifery team.

Mothers, fathers or carers should attend if they feel under pressure and have at least one child under five years of age.
