Services Provided This service is for parents/carers with children between 3 and 16 years old who are referred by a relevant agency. The service provides support, information and advice directly to parents over the telephone, on matters relating to parenting, behaviour management etc.
The helpline offers a planned structured service not a crisis helpline. In a series of planned telephone calls the parent and worker will discuss difficulties and experiences. This will be followed by suggested techniques for the parent to try with their child/children to work towards change.
Alongside the telephone support, written information will be sent to the parent. This service is particularly helpful for those living in isolated areas who cannot access parenting groups, or those who do not wish to do so. One to one support for parents/carers over the phone in a preplanned structured way.
The service provides parents with advice and information on different ways and strategies for dealing with children’s upbringing. This is a referral only service. Referrals are accepted from several agencies within Conwy including: Social Services, Educational Support Service, Health Visitor Teams, School Nurses service, CAMHS, Community paediatrics team, Youth Offending Teams in Conwy and Denbighshire.
