The Children and Young People’s Research Network is part of the Clinical Research Collaboration Cymru (CRC Cymru), the Wales-wide health and social care research infrastructure commissioned by the Welsh Assembly Government.

CRC Cymru has the objective to increase grant funding in Wales through the development of high quality research.

The aims of the Network are to:

  • encourage and develop research in health and social care for children and young people in Wales
  • provide a link for practitioners, policy makers, academics and service users
  • set the agenda for medium and long term strategic priorities
  • promote Wales in the UK, European and Global research communities

Network activities

* The main effort of the Network is to coordinate and bring together people involved in research activity in Wales. The Network oversees Research Development Groups to provide advice and expertise in research work with children, young people and their families. Currently the Network has 3 groups:

  • Child Protection
  • Play
  • Palliative Care

* The Network also coordinates 2 working groups that bring together expertise in research methods or issues in children’s research:

  • Participation in Research Group
  • Cohort & Longitudinal Group

* ‘Network News’ is a monthly newsletter for Network members highlighting new research, events, training and research opportunities. Click here to join the Network.

* The Link website provides news and information from and around the Network. Click on: www.link-wales.org.uk

* Focussed thematic events are held throughout the year and can be found on the Link website.
