Children in Wales is co-ordinating a Media Forum which includes communications and press officers from some of our members.

The aim of the forum is to:

To promote the positive portrayal and participation of children and young people in the media.

Objectives

To promote portrayal of children and young people in the media
To influence other organisations in Wales to promote positive images of children and young people in their work with the media
To assess and promote the participation of children and young people in the media in Wales
To collate examples of good practice in these areas from both within Wales and internationally.
To endeavour to promote cultural diversity and reflect children of every age, every ability, from every social background and ethnic origin in media coverage in Wales
To collate examples of positive stories from within Wales to feed through to the media
